Our interns provide invaluable support by taking ownership and pride in the completion of tasks that keep CineFile running smoothly and beautifully.

Check out the list of intern duties below, and if it seems like work you’d enjoy, then please fill out our application form. We’re seeking folks who can commit to one 3-4 hour shift per week consistently!

Our consistent interns receive free monthly memberships, discounts and swag in store. We can also offer academic credit for those who can use it!

CineFile Intern Duties

Organization & Inventory

  • Fix misalphabetized movies in back of house
  • Alphabetize front of house sections:
  • Make sure all films are in the correct genre section.
  • Reconcile inventory on the floor with database (check shelf vs. system)


Cleaning & Maintenance 

  • Specific cleaning tasks (vacuum, wipe down shelves, etc. - if comfortable only!)
  • Rehabilitate scratched or dirty discs
  • Check if any movies skip or freeze during playback

Sales & Merch

  • Check dates on “For Sale” items and pull anything over 30 days old.
